Passive House as an Ecosystem – Carbon Reduction Goes Beyond the Envelope
April 12 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Event Navigation

Cohosted with AIACT as part of their Sustainable Architecture Awareness Month
A Connecticut Passive House ENCORE PRESENTATION featuring updates on:
- CO2 reduction through the use of Phase Change Materials
- How to track the hidden CO2 surrounding the Passive House
Carbon reduction in the Passive House ecosystem involves three distinct systems: the Passive House, the renewable energy components, and the site around the building.
Aside from standard Passive House strategies of minimizing energy loads and decisions about materials and building methods, the site strategy – before and after construction, AND after occupation – should be considered as part of the overall environmental story. This includes a site “carbon impact” analysis.
