Passive House: From Theory to Reality

Philippe Campus, AIA of PHC Architect and Elizabeth DiSalvo, AIA of Trillium Architects present two case studies following the construction from start to finish of a new single family house and a residential renovation, to show how Passive House principles are applied in the field. Attendees will hear about the building sites and their effects on Passive House requirements, documents and code compliance, translating the PHPP model in the plans, finding a contractor, ventilation, heating/cooling, insulation and windows, and environmental, health and economic benefits of a Passive House.
Learn how to apply the Passive House design principle through examples and case studies including health and indoor comfort aspects for Passive House occupants.
Learn choosing, specifying, and installation of relevant materials and equipment including I.A.P. and foam-free systems.
Understand conducting a field review and testing of equipment and building systems.
Learn the environmental benefits including renewable, net zero and carbon footprint.
