A two-story, 3,209 SF (TFA) Certified Passivehouse Plus, by the Passivehaus Institut of Darmstad, Germany; with 4 bedrooms, a 3 car garage, a four -season conservatory and an 8 KW grid-tied PV system. The Net-zero single family house, completed in 2014, was built on a limited budget, costing 8% more than an identical, energy star class, house. The 13″ thick exterior walls consist of a double row of framing with High Density Cellulose. The insulated roof is made of 12″ TJI with Demilec Agribalance Medium density foam, and the bottom floor is framed with 12″ TJI and H D Cellulose.
HVAC: Zehnder ERV, 2 Ton Waterfurnace geothermal Heat Pump & Steibel Eltron Heat Pump water heater.
