PHI Certified Passive House Designer/Consultant
On-Demand (self-paced, online)
This course is for all building professionals: architects, MEP and structural engineers, builders and construction managers working in the design and construction of new build and retrofit Passive House buildings.
Become a competent Passive House planner by learning everything from how to define the thermal envelope to how to overcome frequent planning and construction challenges. This course will take you into the details of Passive House buildings to ensure that the desired energy savings are actually achieved and that the building will perform as planned.

The course offers real-world insights into on-site implementation as well as counseling and advice on both the practical and business concerns specific to passive house. The material covers not only craftsmanship, but also risks and liability to the passive house contractor and guidance in both problem-solving and (more importantly) problem avoidance.

This course is for all building professionals: tradespeople, site supervisors, general contractors, builders, and construction managers, who will be
involved in the construction of Passive House building. This course can also be appropriate for architects, MEP and structural engineers, developers, and owners’ representatives.
Gain an understanding of the interactions and interdependency¬ of building components in a Passive House project. This course also enables you to assess the energy efficiency of any planning modifications and to solve problems with the designers involved in construction due to a similar knowledge base.

Building certification is an essential part of the quality assurance process. To address the growing amount of requests for Passive House and EnerPHit certification, the Passive House Institute has developed a concept to train more Passive House Certifier for Buildings.

Learn to design to the PHIUS+ climate-specific building standard. Projects earning PHIUS+ Certification follow RESNET QA/QC protocols and achieve excellent HERS scores, US Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Home status, and adhere to EPA indoor airPLUS requirements.

The material covers not only craftsmanship, but also risks and liability to the passive house contractor and guidance in both problem-solving and (more importantly) problem avoidance.

This training focuses on single-family residential projects. The two-day course, geared toward experienced RESNET and BPI professionals, provides grounding in passive building principles as well as a guide to onsite quality assurance for the PHIUS+ program.

This training qualifies professionals to execute QA/QC on large-scale multifamily and commercial buildings. Verifiers learn protocols specific to low- and mid-rise projects.
